Spa Bath Living: Many Details, Few Colors

When you first glance at this master bathroom redesign, it feels very subtle. With a closer look, you can see layer upon layer of detail. This was done to create a soothing bath experience heavy on relaxation but not lacking in interest. The client had a very feminine, asian aesthetic and it shows in every aspect of her home.

The York Wallcoverings paper was chosen as an accent wall and we paint matched the color of the background to create a seamless color for the rest of the walls. We chose a blue in the same family as the grey veining in our gorgeous marble basketweave floor. Polished nickel sconces flank simple mirrors and Brizo finishes pour our of the wall to create repetition for simplicity. We used Cambria quartz as a simple, white surface to balance our heavy marble veining.

In this bathroom, sturdy hardware was essential because the pallet was simple. This Brizo collection offset the traditional basketweave marble with a modern aesthetic.

Bathrooms are a great space to play with monochromatics because it’s the first space you walk into in the morning and the last space you see before you go to sleep. You don’t want it to be overstimulating. Using a pallet of grey, cream, metallics and blue is hard to beat.
