A Home Rich With Pattern

A home with high ceilings and lots of natural light is typically at the top of home buyer’s wishlists these days. However, if not planned right — the open spaces can feel vacant and stark.

This couple had an eye for design and were not afraid of using pattern to create unique spaces through out their large West Plano home. The result was a gorgeous, cozy space that still feels formal as you walk in the large foyer entry.

We used large format porcelain marble flooring to give interest to the large entry and sitting room in the foyer. The grey and taupe veining transformed this home into an updated cool tone feel, a nice update from the cream colored travertine that existed before.

The dark and warm wood elements look just stunning against the porcelain marble flooring with lots of natural light flooding in to highlight the natural. movement.

We decided to go with an understated staircase carpet to not compete with the flooring. This stanton carpet style is formal with almost a lace like pattern but stays tone on tone.

Lastly, the clients used tastefully done wall to wall carpet in several rooms to give each space a feel all their own. We used Stanton and Anderson Tuftex patterns in the family room, master suite and media room.

A large home can sometimes feel overwhelming to execute, but if you look at each room as it’s own space while using the same color family and tones —  the result can feel interesting and fluid at the same time. Congrats to these clients on their newly remodeled home!
