Customize Your Space To Suit Your Mood with Tech
We started out this client’s remodel with an idea. Nate had lived in Japan for several years and wanted to bring a fusion of the Japanese bath culture he grew to love with his fondness for “smart home technology.”
I lived in Japan for a few years and over there they have a culture called “ofuro” which means bathroom or bath house…it’s something they cherish and it’s something that I sort of adopted while I was over there. When I came back I wanted to recreate that in some way here in my home.
We kept the pallet simple with marble, Cambria White Cliff quartz countertops, a custom floating black cabinet, back lit mirrors and Kohler Artifacts hardware and fixtures.Â
As I was looking into the different options to build out the bathroom of my dreams, I found that there were a lot of tech options to adjust the shower to the temperature I want or to even change the color of the room to whatever fits my mood that particular day.
Speaking with the client about his masterbath was the inspiration for “Life Interior” as the theme for the new blog because spaces truly can impact our interior lives for the better. Life throws a lot of things at you and you come home everyday in a little bit of a different mood. What you need to recharge for the next day can change from day to day. Having the same space can get you 90% there but being able to change the space to suit however you’re feeling means you can rest, relax and recharge however best suits you that day.
